Oscar-winning actress Judi Dench has announced she has an eye disease called
age-related macular degeneration. MSNBC reports she is losing her eyesight.
**"The 77-year-old Dench says her vision is so poor, she can no longer read
scripts. She has family and friends read her lines to her."**
Dench made the announcement in an exclusive interview with Britain's Daily
Mirror. She told the paper she usually has a friend, her daughter or her agent
help with scripts. Dench said...
**"...actually I like that, because I sit there and imagine the story in my
mind... The most distressing thing is in a restaurant in the evening I can't
see the person I'm having dinner with."**
Although the article was published Saturday, the Mirror did not disclose how
long Dench had felt the effects of the disease. The actress' mother also
suffered from the condition. The BBC reports AMD...
